To my knowledge, it has been said that the saddest thing a human being will ever face in this lifetime is what might have been. But what about the person who is faced with what was, what may never happen, or what can no longer be? Granted, choosing the right path for each of us as individuals is never easy, I know. But the way I see it, it’s nothing more than a decision we make with only our hearts to guide us. And sometimes if we’re lucky, blessed, or even strong enough, we find our way, right? But what actually determines the immensity behind those three elements? And who’s to say we all have it in us to do so? Fighting through the regret and remorse of our mistakes, our malice and our jealously, and the shame we feel for not being the people we were meant to be seems to be anything but simple to me. But if and when we do, is that when we find our way to something better? Or does something better find its way to us?
Just a thought.
